Titon Strengthens Security with Maco M-Spag Range - May 2015

Titon has added the MACO M-Spag telescopic shootbolt espagnolette to its range of window security products. Suitable for use on PVCu, timber or aluminium windows, the M-Spag enables the fabrication of a wide range of easy to operate window styles from a single high security locking system.

There are four telescopic sizes and one croppable size available, covering a standard  application range of 320mm up to 1,500mm, with the option of two backsets (20mm and 22mm) and two cam heights (7.7mm and 9mm).

The modular design of the MACO M-Spag allows extension pieces to be fitted to increase the standard sash rebate size, as well as position the handle off-centre if required.  Options include a French casement version incorporating night vent strikes and a low handle height version.

Tyson Anderson, Sales and Marketing Director at Titon, said: “We have been a MACO distributor for 30 years and, as we’ve come to expect from all their items we stock and supply, the M-SPAG telescopic shootbolt espagnolette is a high quality product. Not only is it extremely durable, it has also been vigorously tested to ensure levels of safety and performance which exceed the requirements of industry standards, resulting in a modern and secure piece of window hardware."

The rapid-fit shootbolt security locking system boasts an array of benefits, including having all the screw fixings on one face for ease of assembly. Plus, steel ended shootbolts maximise the security performance, which can be enhanced even further by fitting stabilising plates to the end pieces. Each M-Spag also has compression adjustment, central and end mushroom cams, while centre locks can also be fitted enable the construction of tall, top-hung windows.

The Maco M-Spag is suitable for use on all windows with a minimum 5mm deep Eurogroove. All products have been PAS24-2012 security tested, as well as endurance tested to Grade 5, 25,000 cycles EN 13126 Part 4. The silver look surface treatment has also been tested to 480 hours Class 5 EN 1670 corrosion resistance, while all M-SPAG systems benefit from a 10-year warranty.
